Hi again. BIRTV 2008 will begin on November 5. And you can find a page on this exhibition on Panasonic's website. Panasonic's exhibition theme for the BIRTV this year is "Shift further toward HD in China beyond Beijing Olympic Games." It's still fresh in our memories how Panasonic's "P2HD Series" adopted as the official broadcasting equipment for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games that took place in August brought vivid high definition footage to people all around the world. And this message seems to communicate how Panasonic would like to take this opportunity to make high definition more accessible and more widespread in China.
It seems that this year marks the 30th anniversary since China implemented reforms to open up its doors to the outside world. And it is also 30 years ago in 1978 that Panasonic's founder, Kounosuke Matsushita met with Mr. Deng Xiaoping, who served as the Deputy Premier of the State Council at that time, in Japan and pledged to help modernize China's electronics industry, and that is how Panasonic's relationship with China began. And this year is the 10th year since Panasonic introduced the DVCPRO format broadcasting equipment in China. So the unprecedented support of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with the state-of-the-art technologies seems very befitting for such a commemorative year. By the way, Panasonic provided the following products to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: 25 "Astro Visions" to 18 venues, 2,000 security system cameras, 250 digital VTRs for broadcasting use, 100 camera recorders for broadcasting use, 1,500 TV monitors, an 284 audio systems, "RAMSA," to 41 venues.
At BIRTV 2008, Panasonic will not only introduce the "P2HD" camera system used at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, but it will also showcase the latest camera systems such as the recently unveiled new "P2-VARICAM" with a memory card recording system great also for cinema production, the "AVCCAM," which lets you record many hours of footage onto an SD/SDHC Memory Card, LCD monitors, digital AV mixers, and editing control units. You can also check out their capabilities at the shooting corners and demonstration corners.
