[SECURITY SHOW/Japan] "SECURITY SHOW," which aspires to realize "safe and secure cities and societies" will begin on March 3!

Just when I thought that the International CES had just ended, we're already heading into March. The 17th "SECURITY SHOW" will begin in Tokyo from the 3rd of March. According to the official site, the SECURITY SHOW 2009 is one of the largest exhibitions in Japan "in the field of security and safety management that introduces devices, systems and services to realize 'safe and secure cities and societies'… that safeguard offices, stores and households from external risks such as crime and natural disasters and internal risks such as information leaks and fraud."

Recently there seems to be more and more offices that only authorize entry to those with IC cards, and there may be more companies that have implemented even more stringent rules and regulations regarding the safekeeping of personal computers and management of information. Problems such as information leaks occur unexpectedly, so people in charge of information and security management must be thinking about "ways to better protect information and security" on a daily basis and many people must be longing for an "easily operable and effective solution." And if we look at our day-to-day lives, in the good old days we were told to "be careful of cars" when we stepped out of the house, but nowadays we must also be careful in our homes to stay clear of internet scams and crimes. In this light, many of you may also be looking for solutions for the home that "wouldn't require major construction work."

From among this vast field of safety and security, Panasonic will introduce entry management systems that are being implemented at schools and office buildings, sensor cameras, and home security devices that help protect the home while you're out or help keep an eye on the yard At the SECURITY SHOW 2009. The booth will be divided into 2 zones, business and home. In the Business Zone, demonstrations incorporating live performances set in various situations such as the office, bank, and the factory will take place. And in the Home Zone, devices and services that cover a wide area from homes to neighboring houses such as security systems for houses, and earthquake warning systems for apartments will be introduced.

Furthermore, on the "Security Stage," which is an area independent from all other booths, seminars on safety and security will take place. I am looking forward to testing out the latest security devices for myself, so please stay tuned to my entries.

You can see what ideas will be on exhibit in the Panasonic booth from this site.

If you register on the official site of the "SECURITY SHOW" one day before you plan to visit, you will get to see other exhibitions such as the "Lighting Fair" and "JAPAN SHOP" for free. If you're planning to go, don't forget to pre-register!
