The Inter BEE 2009 (International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition), which will begin on Wednesday, November 18 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, is one of the largest exhibitions on audio, visual, broadcasting, and communications industry in Japan. You will find many broadcast equipment, audio-visual devices, and peripheral applications and solutions from Japan and all around the world. As the wave of digital broadcasting spreads across the world, there is increasing demand for not only visual content, but also new solutions and services realized by connecting to the network. As such, the organizers announced that they will have a new pavilion, the "IPTV, Mobile TV, Cross Media Zone."

In Japan, the complete shift to digital terrestrial broadcasting will occur in 2 years, so many large broadcasting networks as well as cable TV stations have begun HD broadcasting; the preparations for the shift seems to be already in place on the broadcasters' side. And currently, the shift to HD is even occurring with respect to bridal videos, promotion videos, schools, and production for Internet content. People who use HD devices in these various fields may have a desire for even greater picture quality in order to provide "professional quality imagery." And I am sure many people are interested in workflows and solutions that will enable them to make full use of HD imagery. Well, Inter BEE offers a great opportunity for people to actually check out the devices and experience what it would be like to use them. In recent years, the population of professional-minded consumers (prosumers) is said to be also increasing. I hope to check out this expanding world of HD imagery at Inter BEE 2009.
At the Panasonic booth you will find camera systems, LCD monitors, switchers, and studio lighting systems, among other devices and solutions under the theme, "Expanding Panasonic AVC World ~ HD solution with 'eco ideas' ~." You can also watch a demonstration of the new broadcast workflow. Solutions that incorporate advanced technology, but are environmentally conscious will also be on exhibit.
